1973 250 & 350 Mototrans

In the early 1970 Ducati and Berliner, Ducati's
representative in the United States were in dispute
about pricing and motorcycles promised to
Berliner were redirected to the United Kingdom.
These 2,400 bikes would be the last of the singles
destine to the US from Italy and not make it to
these shores.  Instead, Mototran's Ducati's
authorized manufacture located in Spain would
deliver these motorcycles to the United States.

To the immediate right (with the orange rear
fender) is a 350cc which was abandon in
Brooklyn's Quintin Garage (Photo included) after
being driven to New York from Illinois in the first
half of the 1970's.  Brad, the gentleman in the tank
top (Photo included) was the person who found
the bike and began the restoration. The photo's in
the street are the condition and location I found it,
outside locked to a banister in Brooklyn, NY.

Engine parts are known not to be interchangeable
with Italian made motors, but most of the additional
components of Motortrans motorcycles are,
including the valuable aluminum rims.

This is a 250cc bike found in Florida which looked
nasty ... To my surprise the owner placed clean
fuel and a new battery into it and the bike started
after a couple of kicks.  This is one of those bikes
that looks as though it was abandon 20 years ago
and what a nice surprise to see it and hear it
running.
